3-month Internship

24 Frames of Light, a filmmaker’s group, has been making shorts and feature films for more than a decade. Based in Hawaii and created by our film school faculty members, 24 Frames has produced over 50 short films, receiving dozens of awards in both national and international film festivals.

Upon successful completion of the school, students have the opportunity to sign up for a 3-month internship with 24 Frames of Light. During the three-month Practicum, graduates of the School of Film have the opportunity to produce a variety of short films with the objective to gain experience and explore the visual narrative style that best fits the individual.

Interns design their own path of development to becoming filmmakers in their field of choice. For example, if the intern's goal is to become a Director of Photography, he or she will start working as a camera assistant on shorts directed by our faculty members. As he or she gains experience they will then become a camera operator and Director of Photography for the different short films being produced.

Those that successfully complete the internship can join 24 Frames as full members for a period of 2 years or more. As a full member, the intern can continue to work on short films of his/her own authorship as well as becoming a crew member on other feature films produced by 24 Frames or any of our partners in The Film Institute team.
